Props for your Revolution

A repository of lefty propaganda. Mostly Canadian stuff, with the odd bit of international thrown in. A great source for inspiration when designing your props.

Spread the Net

Spread the Net - www.spreadthenet.org

An excellent idea to save children's lives. Also, a brilliantly designed campaign against a major killer.

Check it. www.spreadthenet.org

Agitprop and a Photograph - Earn your media!

This photograph is the first one I have ever had published in a major daily newspaper. This picture of Captain Clean which I took as part of my rally duties at the LHMU was published in The Age.

Better to earn than pay for a circulation of 1 million.

Anyone can dress up.. and you don't have to look as good as Captain Clean to get your message across.

Our world is not for sale - NO ZLEA NO FTAA

This button and the demonstrations in Quebec in 2001 will always have a special place in my heart.

Here, a chalk artist protests the snatch squad who inexplicably grabbed me out of the 60,000 person peaceful Saturday afternoon demonstration.

Keep it simple.

One word can say it all.

You couldn't say it better than that.

Joe Comartin

Joe Comartin has been doing some great work this month on the Maher Arar file. This included damning questioning of Zaccardelli the now resigned RCMP commissioner.

Here's an image of his NDP Leadership race button from 2003.

Say No!

The emphatic nature of propaganda can always be backed up with emotion and dialogue.

Check this leaflet for the incredibly successful Australian Council of Trade Unions June 28, 2006 rally.

Propaganda..

This will be a simple blog. A place for propaganda to go and be remembered. To remember the campaigns of the past and to link the past propaganda with current causes.

You may not like what this blog says, but you surely will find ideas galore for your buttons, banners, toques, t-shirts, posters, placards, revolt and revolution.

I'll start it off with a reminder of the power of the hand drawn sign:

This particular placard is from the 1998-1999 BC Projectionist's strike (IATSE 348).
